The New Orleans Saints are being cautious with Drew Brees' recovery and have no plans to hurry him back for Week 15, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Brees' status for next Sunday's tilt against the Kansas City Chiefs is questionable at best, sources told Schefter.

There is no clear timetable for Brees' return from his 11 fractured ribs and collapsed lung, as the Saints want to ensure the quarterback makes a full recovery. The 41-year-old must first be able to throw without restrictions and have a full range of motion, Schefter adds.

Sunday's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles will be the fourth that Brees has missed since being put on injured reserve.

Taysom Hill has filled in under center in Brees' absence and has compiled a 3-0 record as a starter. A dual-threat weapon, the 30-year-old has rushed for four scores over the last three games and threw the first two touchdown passes of his career last week.

The Saints have won nine straight games and sit atop the NFC with a 10-2 record. With a playoff spot already clinched, New Orleans will attempt to keep the Green Bay Packers at bay for the conference's highest seed.
