The Chicago Bears placed star safety Eddie Jackson on the reserve/COVID-19 list, the team announced Monday.

The team moved Jackson to the reserve group after deeming him a close contact to someone outside of the team facility, according to ESPN's Jeff Dickerson. He didn't practice Monday.

The 26-year-old has started 56 games for Chicago since being selected in the fourth round in 2017. He's been chosen for the Pro Bowl twice and has earned one All-Pro berth in 2018.

Jackson has racked up 58 tackles, two pass breakups, and a team-high three forced fumbles through 10 games this year.

The Alabama product is the eighth Bears player placed on the COVID-19 list since the start of the season.

Players deemed close contacts must be sidelined for five days following their last contact with an infected person.
