The Kansas City Chiefs placed defensive tackle Chris Jones on the reserve/COVID-19 list, ESPN's Field Yates reports.
It's believed Jones is a close contact of someone who tested positive for COVID-19, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. The team announced earlier Thursday that a staff member tested positive for the virus. That staff member is reportedly vice president of sports medicine and performance Rick Burkholder, according to Garafolo and Tom Pelissero.
As a result, the Chiefs are following the league's intensive protocol and closed team facilities in the afternoon.
Kansas City is scheduled to play the Carolina Panthers on Sunday and is moving forward with its preparation.
