Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver John Ross didn't hold back when explaining the recent rumors surrounding his trade status Friday.

Ross responded to a now-deleted report questioning the receiver's passion for the sport, citing a team source.

The receiver hasn't been shy about his request for a new start or frustrations over a lack of playing time after his agent confirmed he approached the Bengals about a trade.

Ross is coming off a 2019 campaign that saw him set career highs in receiving yards (506) and receptions (28), but he's fallen out of favor in Cincinnati this season.

A former top-ten pick, Ross hasn't been active for a contest since Week 6 and was listed as doubtful for Sunday's matchup against the Tennessee Titans due to an illness.

The 25-year-old has played just one game since Week 3 and only recorded one offensive snap in that contest.

The Bengals have already made one move ahead of this year's trade deadline, shipping veteran pass-rusher Carlos Dunlap to the Seahawks. The NFL trade deadline is Nov. 3.
