New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is reportedly expected to miss Sunday’s clash against the Buffalo Bills after undergoing knee surgery on Thursday, according to Jeff Howe of The Athletic.

Edelman has dealt with the ailment dating back to training camp, Andrew Callahan of the Boston Globe reports.

While Edelman will miss time after the procedure, it's not expected to cost him the remainder of the season. The team has not provided a recovery timeline.

The 34-year old leads the club with 21 receptions for 315 yards and zero touchdowns through six games this season and has also rushed for 22 yards.

The Kent State product has tallied three 1,000-yard campaigns as a Patriot.

The squad could also be without first-round selection N’Keal Harry, who is dealing with concussion symptoms, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss, after exiting in the first half against the San Francisco 49ers.

New England's passing game will now feature Jakobi Meyers, Gunner Olszewski, and Damiere Byrd with Edelman on the shelf.
