Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Chris Godwin will miss Monday's contest against the New York Giants after undergoing surgery for a fractured left index finger, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Godwin could return for Tampa Bay's Week 9 clash against the New Orleans Saints.

The 24-year-old reportedly suffered the injury during the fourth quarter on Sunday while securing a four-yard touchdown catch. He was able to finish the game, which the Bucs won by a score of 45-20 over the Las Vegas Raiders.

Godwin amassed nine receptions for 88 yards and a touchdown during the contest.

He missed a pair of games earlier this season due to a hamstring injury he suffered against the Denver Broncos in Week 3.

The Penn State product has recorded 25 receptions for 279 yards and two touchdowns through four games this campaign.

With Godwin sidelined, Tampa Bay will rely on pass-catchers Mike Evans, Scotty Miller, Rob Gronkowski, and Tyler Johnson.

The Bucs also officially signed wide receiver Antonio Brown on Tuesday. The receiver remains suspended due to multiple violations of the NFL's conduct policy but is eligible to make his debut in Week 9 against the Saints.
