Bengals' Mixon out vs. Browns due to foot injury
Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon won't play Sunday against the Cleveland Browns due to a foot injury, head coach Zac Taylor announced Friday, according to Jay Morrison of The Athletic.
Mixon suffered the injury in Week 6 versus the Indianapolis Colts and didn't practice all week.
The 1-4-1 Bengals will likely miss Mixon, who led the team in rushing during each of the last three seasons and currently tops the NFL with 140 touches.
The 24-year-old has rushed for 428 yards and three touchdowns through six games this season. He's also caught 21 passes for 138 yards and one score.
Giovani Bernard, Samaje Perine, and Trayveon Williams are now Cincinnati's running back options against the Browns. That group has logged just 13 combined rushing attempts in 2020.
Taylor also announced that veteran defensive tackle Mike Daniels will be active against Cleveland after recently being activated from the injured reserve, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.
