New York Jets quarterback Sam Darnold has struggled in his third season, and he's aware of suggestions that the team will select Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft.

"Yeah, you know, I mean, I have social media," Darnold said, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini, adding that he's heard some of the chatter, but the Jets have a "game to win this week and that's all we're worried about."

The young signal-caller has come under fire as he works his way back from a throwing shoulder injury that forced him to miss two games.

"I don't think I've played well enough to win, that's just shooting it straight," said Darnold. "We haven't won any games, so obviously I haven't played well enough."

The third overall selection in the 2018 draft isn't letting talk of his possible replacement affect him.

"For me, it's out of my control," he said. "I'm here to do my best and help this team win games."

Through four games this campaign, the former USC standout has completed 82 passes for 792 yards and three touchdowns to four interceptions.

The Jets remain the league's only winless team, and they'll attempt to change that while hosting the Buffalo Bills at Metlife Stadium on Sunday.
