Free-agent safety Tony Jefferson is on his way to Indianapolis for a visit with the Colts, the veteran said to NFL reporter Josina Anderson.
While the visit is scheduled for Friday, no workout is currently planned, Anderson adds.
Jefferson was released by the Baltimore Ravens in February as a cost-cutting measure. He spent the past three seasons with Baltimore and began his career with a four-year stint with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Colts lost safety Malik Hooker for the season when he suffered a torn Achilles in Week 2. Jefferson is coming off a season-ending injury of his own after suffering a torn ACL last October.
