Dee Ford won't play vs. Jets due to neck injury
San Francisco 49ers defensive end Dee Ford is listed as out for Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets due to a neck injury.
Ford didn't practice all week and was previously considered questionable for Week 2.
The pass-rusher had surgery during the offseason to clean up a chronic knee issue but played 56% of San Francisco's Week 1 defensive snaps.
Ford joins a growing list of 49ers players who are expected to miss time. The team placed wide receiver Deebo Samuel and cornerback Richard Sherman on short-term injured reserve earlier this week, and star tight end George Kittle will also miss Sunday's tilt with a knee sprain.
Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead will receive most of the work on the edge in Ford's absence, with Kerry Hyder and Kentavius Street spelling them.
