The Minnesota Vikings are holding running back Dalvin Cook out of some team drills as the parties discuss a long-term contract extension, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

Cook said last week that he would be a "full go" once the Vikings began padded activities Monday, regardless of his contract situation.

The Pro Bowl runner reported to training camp on time July 28 and denied the holdout rumors that surfaced during the offseason, saying the speculation "was never coming from me."

Cook, 25, enters the last year of his rookie contract coming off his best NFL campaign so far. The 2017 second-round pick amassed career highs with 1,135 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns through 14 games in 2019.
