Kingsbury certain Hopkins trade will get processed: 'No concern'

Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury isn't sweating the status of the DeAndre Hopkins trade, which still isn't official.

"There is no concern," Kingsbury told Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com. "We'll get it done. I have no doubts it'll be done before the draft."

While the Cardinals and Houston Texans have both announced the trade, it still needs to be processed by the NFL. The two players involved - Hopkins and David Johnson - need to take physicals before the deal can become official, but the COVID-19 pandemic has kept that from happening.

The blockbuster trade also includes a pair of 2020 draft picks, which cannot change hands until the NFL posts the transaction. The draft begins April 23.

The Texans agreed to send Hopkins and a fourth-round selection to the Cardinals for Johnson, a second-rounder, and a 2021 fourth-rounder March 16.

Hopkins was named a first-team All-Pro wide receiver for the third straight season in 2019 after posting 1,165 yards and seven touchdowns.
