The Detroit Lions placed wide receiver Marvin Jones on injured reserve Tuesday, the team announced.

The 29-year-old suffered the reported ankle injury late in the fourth quarter of his club's 20-7 loss to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14. He sill managed to play in every offensive snap but was carted to the locker room after the game.

Jones, who finished last season on IR, leads the Lions with 62 receptions through 13 games this year. The star wideout has also posted 779 receiving yards and nine touchdowns.

Detroit will likely continue to rely on Kenny Golladay for the remainder of its campaign. The third-year wideout has 53 catches for 1,008 yards and 10 touchdowns this year.

The 3-9-1 Lions have already been eliminated from the playoff hunt, marking the third straight year the team has missed the postseason. They face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 15.
