Cleveland Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens appeared in an Instagram photo posted Friday night wearing a T-shirt with the words "Pittsburgh started it," a reference to the Myles Garrett-Mason Rudolph brawl.
A Browns spokesperson told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Kitchens' daughters gave him the shirt "as a joke." Kitchens apparently didn't expect the shirt to be recognized and "understands it's not a good look."
Browns pass-rusher Garrett was suspended indefinitely and handed a hefty fine for ripping off Rudolph's helmet and striking him in the head with it late in Cleveland's Week 11 victory.
Garrett later claimed his actions were precipitated by the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback using a racial slur. An NFL investigation revealed no evidence such a word was uttered.
Rudolph was fined for his involvement in the fracas. Two other players - Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey and Browns defensive tackle Larry Ogunjobi - received short suspensions.
