President Donald Trump called Kirk Cousins to congratulate the quarterback and his Minnesota Vikings for defeating the New York Giants, a team spokesperson confirmed to CBS Minnesota.
The call came with Trump, a native New Yorker, getting ready to host a rally in Minnesota later this week. Cousins won't attend the event.
Cousins went 22-for-27 for 306 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants, bouncing back from a slow start to the season that led to a bevy of criticism.
He revealed in 2017 that he had played a round of golf with Trump.
