Report: Trubisky avoids shoulder surgery, unlikely to play vs. Raiders
An MRI on Monday revealed that Chicago Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky sustained a dislocated left shoulder and a minor labrum tear in Sunday's win over the Minnesota Vikings, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Trubisky won't need surgery and should be back "sooner rather than later," added Schefter's source. However, while the quarterback will reportedly travel with the team to London this week, he's unlikely to play against the Oakland Raiders.
Chase Daniel will again replace Trubisky if he indeed can't suit up in Week 5. Chicago then has its bye in Week 6.
Trubisky suffered the injury after landing awkwardly on his non-throwing shoulder while scrambling.
Bears head coach Matt Nagy refused to confirm the details of Schefter's report at his presser later Monday.
"We'll know more throughout the day," he said, according to Larry Mayer of the Bears' official site.
Trubisky has struggled to start his third season. He's averaging an NFL-worst 5.5 yards per attempt and has thrown just three touchdowns to two interceptions.
