Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green has already been ruled out of Monday night's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he is expected to remain sidelined for at least the next two weeks, sources told Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Green was initially expected to miss multiple games to start the season due to an ankle injury, but it appears the wideout will continue to be cautious with his rehabilitation.

The Bengals declined to provide an updated timetable for Green's return when it was announced he wouldn't play against the Steelers.

Cincinnati has started 0-3 and is averaging 18 points per game without its top offensive weapon.

The perennial Pro Bowler has struggled with injuries in recent seasons. He missed seven games with a toe issue last year and another six due to a hamstring tear in 2016.
