The Carolina Panthers reportedly released veteran wide receiver Torrey Smith, a source told Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Smith spent one season with the Panthers, catching 17 passes for 190 yards and two touchdowns over 11 games.
The 30-year-old was known as one of the NFL's premier deep threats earlier in his career and was a starter on the Baltimore Ravens' championship team in 2012.
Smith accepted a pay cut in May, and it appeared at the time that his roster spot would be safe heading into the new season.
