The Arizona Cardinals have suspended COO Ron Minegar for a minimum of six weeks without pay following his Aug. 10 arrest, according to Katherine Fitzgerald of the Arizona Republic.
Minegar was apprehended on suspicion of driving under the influence.
The Cardinals also fined Minegar $200,000, which will be donated to the Arizona chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
"Minegar, who has been away from the team since the Aug. 10 incident, will not be able to return until he has completed several additional steps," the team said in a statement. "These include, but are not limited to, an alcohol assessment, counseling, and mandatory DUI education, as well as community service."
The executive will apparently be prohibited from all team activities and won't be involved in any of Arizona's business operations during his suspension.
Minegar won't face any additional discipline from the NFL, league spokesperson Brian McCarthy told Fitzgerald on Tuesday.
In 2018, Cardinals general manager Steve Keim was arrested and later pleaded guilty to DUI charges. Arizona suspended Keim for five weeks and hit him with a $200,000 fine.
