The Seattle Seahawks will apparently have to wait to see their first-round pick in action.

Rookie defensive end L.J. Collier has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle after being carted off Seattle's practice field on Tuesday, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

He will likely miss the entire preseason as a result.

Collier was selected with the No. 29 overall pick in the 2019 draft after a standout career at TCU. He racked up 14.5 sacks and 42 total tackles in his final season of college.

His injury is the latest blow to the Seahawks' defensive line. Free-agent signing Ezekiel Ansah is still working back from shoulder surgery, while defensive tackle Jarran Reed - who broke out last year with a 10.5-sack campaign - is suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy.

The Seahawks also traded away their top pass-rusher, Frank Clark, to the Kansas City Chiefs in April. Collier was expected to help fill the void left by Clark's departure.
