The New Orleans Saints released wide receiver Cameron Meredith, head coach Sean Payton confirmed, according to Herbie Teope of The New Orleans Advocate.
Meredith was an intriguing addition to the Saints last year when he was coming off reconstructive knee surgery, but he never wound up making an impact. The 26-year-old posted 66 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns with the Chicago Bears in 2016.
The move would save the Saints $900,000 against the salary cap, according to Over The Cap.
