Peyton Manning has no interest in joining the Monday Night Football broadcast next season due to the awkwardness that would come from analyzing his brother and former teammates, sources told Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson.

Eli Manning and the New York Giants are scheduled to appear on Monday Night Football twice during the 2019 campaign, while the elder Manning has plenty of friends on teams throughout the league.

"If he ever decides (Monday Night Football) is something he wants to do, it's going to be after Eli has finished his career and he gets a little bit further from his era of playing and maybe some of his teammates have moved on, too," one of the sources said.

"It would have been a tough position for him this season, with the Giants (and Denver Broncos) being on the schedule. There is a lot of loyalty there for him and I don't think he'd ever want to be in a position where he'd be conflicted about his analysis. It just wouldn’t have been a comfortable situation this year."

ESPN and other networks have pursued Manning since his retirement in 2015. So far, the future Hall of Fame quarterback hasn't budged on any of the offers.

Manning hasn't shut the door on a future in broadcasting and has also expressed interest in launching a front-office career at some point.

The 43-year-old spent his playing days with the Indianapolis Colts and Broncos.
