Hunt seeks fresh start with Browns: 'I've got to earn everybody's trust'

Speaking to reporters for the first time since joining the Cleveland Browns, Kareem Hunt expressed regret for pushing and kicking a woman in a Cleveland hotel last February.

"It's not a good feeling (to watch the video back)," he said Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhabwala. "I don't want to go to that place again."

Hunt said he promised Browns general manager John Dorsey that he'll never let a similar incident occur. "I've got to earn everybody's trust," Hunt insisted, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

The running back stated that he still attends counseling twice a week and will be baptized Sunday. "I'm looking forward to it so I can feel reborn," he said.

Asked to explain his altercation with the woman, Hunt responded that he is "trying to move forward," according to Yahoo Sports' Kimberley A. Martin. The ball-carrier admitted he has yet to reach out to the woman, but said, "If I was to see her, I'd apologize to her."

Hunt received an eight-game suspension in March for his actions. He was released by the Kansas City Chiefs in December after the video surfaced in late November, and the Browns signed him in February despite knowing a lengthy ban was forthcoming.
