The Seattle Seahawks are expected to sign quarterback Geno Smith, a source told ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
Smith would likely slot in as Russell Wilson's backup after spending last season with the Los Angeles Chargers. The Seahawks would be his fourth team in four years.
The 28-year-old Smith was a second-round pick of the New York Jets in 2013 and spent four up-and-down seasons with the club. He later joined the New York Giants in 2017 and famously ended Eli Manning's lengthy starting streak by getting the nod late in the regular season.
Overall, Smith has started just two games since 2015. He appeared in five contests with the Chargers last year, throwing only four combined passes.
