The Cleveland Browns traded defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah to the Kansas City Chiefs in exchange for safety Eric Murray, both teams announced Monday.
Ogbah, a former second-round pick, became dispensable when the Browns acquired pass-rusher Olivier Vernon to pair with Pro Bowler Myles Garrett earlier this offseason. He was absent Monday when Cleveland began voluntary team workouts, reportedly because he was bracing for a trade.

Ogbah recorded 12.5 sacks across three seasons with the Browns. He'll now help fill the voids the Chiefs created on the edges this offseason when they released Justin Houston and traded Dee Ford. Kansas City also signed defensive end Alex Okafor in free agency to help in that department.
Going the other way is Murray, who collected 99 tackles, one sack, and one interception in three campaigns with the Chiefs.
Cleveland had been searching for safety help, and the release of Derrick Kindred earlier Monday signaled an acquisition was on the horizon.
Both Ogbah and Murray are entering the final year of their contracts.
