Free-agent tight end Dwayne Allen will sign with the Miami Dolphins, he informed ESPN's Josina Anderson.

The deal will be worth $7 million over two years, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Allen is coming off a two-year stint with the New England Patriots where he served primarily as a blocker. He was released after the season for salary cap reasons.

Allen had his most productive season as a receiver in 2012 with the Colts, posting 521 yards and three touchdowns as a rookie. He notched a career-high eight touchdown receptions with Indianapolis in 2014.
