Arizona Cardinals general manager Steve Keim did anything but slam the door on whispers that his team could select a quarterback with the first overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Keim appeared noncommital when asked about his 2018 first-round selection Josh Rosen's job security as the team's starting quarterback.

"Yeah, he is right now, for sure," Keim told reporters on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Rosen struggled through his rookie season, and past ties between new Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury and top passing prospect Kyler Murray have spawned rumors the Cardinals could look to move on from Rosen after just one year.

Earlier in the day, Kingsbury gave a more definitive evaluation of Rosen, telling NFL Network's Peter Schrager that the sophomore is "tremendously talented" and the Cardinals "want to build (the offense) around him."

Though Kingsbury stopped short of guaranteeing the Cardinals won't look to replace Rosen in this spring's draft, he noted that "Josh knows where he stands with us."
