NFL ratings up 5 percent from 2017

The NFL announced Wednesday that viewership throughout the 2018 regular season was up more than five percent from last year's figures.

The league drew an average of 15.8 million viewers per game, excluding London broadcasts, and each of the prime-time packages also saw a significant boost in ratings.

The highest-rated game of the year was the Thanksgiving Day contest between the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins, which drew 30.5 million viewers.

It was one of the highest-scoring seasons in league history. A record 1,371 touchdowns were scored during the campaign.
