Pittsburgh Steelers running back James Conner has been downgraded to doubtful with an ankle injury and isn't likely to suit up Sunday against the New England Patriots, a source told NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.
Conner is reportedly expected to return in Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints.
The 23-year-old suffered an ankle injury in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Chargers. He was sidelined the following week when his team faced the Oakland Raiders.
Jaylen Samuels is expected to take over in the Pittsburgh backfield in Conner's absence.
Conner has 909 rushing yards, 467 receiving yards, and 13 total touchdowns this season.
