Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians said he's been given medical clearance to one day return to an NFL sideline.

Arians appeared on "The Rich Eisen Show" on Thursday and said he's received a "clean bill of health," according to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan.

The 66-year-old announced his retirement after leading the Cardinals to an 8-8 record in 2017. He said in early November - following the firing of Hue Jackson - that he would consider coaching again but only with the Cleveland Browns.

Arians reiterated that sentiment Thursday but said he doesn't think he'll get an interview, and if he did get the job, he would not be calling plays and would instead "turn (play-calling duties) over to someone I've trained."

The former Browns offensive coordinator has been working with CBS this season as a game analyst.
