Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon suffered an MCL sprain Sunday and will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, the team announced Monday.

Gordon exited in the third quarter of the Chargers' 45-10 win over the Arizona Cardinals.

Running backs Austin Ekeler and Justin Jackson split backfield duties for Los Angeles following Gordon's departure; Ekeler will likely shoulder the majority of the workload in his absence.

The 25-year-old was listed as questionable due to hamstring and knee issues entering Week 12 but convinced his coaches to let him play, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Gordon has rushed for 802 yards while recording 453 receiving yards and 13 total touchdowns - including two against the Cardinals - through 10 games this season.
