Baltimore Ravens offensive lineman Marshal Yanda said Wednesday he did not spit on an opposing player over the weekend despite accusations to the contrary.

"I would never, ever spit on another person," he told Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic. "That's not how I was raised."

A video circulated Sunday after the Ravens defeated the Cincinnati Bengals that showed Yanda spitting while standing near a pile of players including teammates and opposition. At the top of the pile was Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict.

"That spit hit the ground 100 percent," Yanda said. "It didn't hit anybody."

The Ravens denied the allegations against Yanda on Monday after the video picked up momentum.

"It's a terrible deal," Yanda added. "I'm not happy I'm involved in it, for sure. I just know in my heart, I'd never spit on anybody."
