Saints sign veteran Marshall to replace injured Bryant

The New Orleans Saints replaced injured receiver Dez Bryant with another veteran wideout, signing six-time Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall on Monday, head coach Sean Payton confirmed to Nick Underhill of The Advocate.

Marshall, who was cut by the Seattle Seahawks on Oct. 30, worked out for the Saints the same day Bryant did. New Orleans chose to sign the former Dallas Cowboys star, but Bryant went down with a torn Achilles at the end of his second practice with the club.

The 34-year-old Marshall now joins a Saints squad that boasts an 8-1 record and sits atop the NFC South, giving him an opportunity to finally play in the postseason. The 13-year veteran has donned uniforms for six different teams, but has never tasted the playoffs.

Marshall produced just 136 yards and one touchdown in seven games with the Seahawks prior to his release.
