The New Orleans Saints are placing wide receiver Cameron Meredith on injured reserve as he awaits arthroscopic knee surgery, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The roster move accompanies the signing of free-agent receiver Dez Bryant on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old appeared in six games this season, making just one start. His season will end with nine receptions for 114 yards and one touchdown.

Meredith was signed to a two-year, $9.5-million offer sheet last offseason as a restricted free agent of the Chicago Bears.

He didn't suit up with the Bears in 2017 after tearing his ACL in a preseason game.
