Washington Redskins wide receiver Paul Richardson (AC joint) and guards Brandon Scherff (torn pectoral) and Shawn Lauvao (torn ACL) will all miss the remainder of the season, head coach Jay Gruden announced Monday.

It's a brutal development for the Redskins, who currently sit atop the NFC East at 5-3. Scherff was named to the Pro Bowl in 2016 and '17, Lauvao's been a consistent starter since joining the team in 2014, and Richardson had provided the offense with a downfield option in the passing game since signing a five-year deal in the offseason.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo added that Richardson had been playing through the injury and is expected to miss six-to-eight months while recovering.

Washington will resume its season in Tampa Bay against the Buccaneers on Sunday.
