Chicago Bears pass-rusher Khalil Mack is inactive Sunday versus the New York Jets due to the ankle injury he's battled the last couple of weeks.

Mack, who has played at a superstar level for Chicago since being acquired from the Oakland Raiders during the preseason, first suffered the injury Oct. 14 against the Miami Dolphins. He played last week in the Bears' loss to the New England Patriots, but was clearly hindered by the ailment.

The 27-year-old has five sacks and four forced fumbles in six contests, jumping into contention for his second career Defensive Player of the Year award.

Sunday's affair will mark the first time in Mack's career that he's been inactive for a game.
