The New England Patriots may be shorthanded for Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears as tight end Rob Gronkowski is "highly unlikely" to play after not traveling with the team on Saturday due to a back injury, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Gronkowski's officially listed as doubtful, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Gronkowski has played all six games so far this season and has totals of 26 receptions, 405 yards, and one touchdown. His 97 yards in last Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs were his most since posting a 7-123-1 line in Week 1.

Fellow tight end Jacob Hollister was ruled out due to a chest injury, leaving veteran Dwayne Allen as the only healthy option on the active roster.
