Inked Flash, Colin Kaepernick's company, filed a trademark last Friday for a black-and-white image of the free-agent quarterback's face and hair, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

The intent of the filing is to use the likeness on a variety of products ranging from shampoo to jewelry.

The image could also be used in association with "providing classes, workshops, seminars, and camps in the field of self-empowerment and awareness to properly interact with law enforcement" and with "production of television shows and films," Rovell adds.

Kaepernick recently partnered with Nike as the face of the 30th anniversary of the company's "Just Do It" ad campaign. Nike CEO Mark Parker said the campaign led to "record engagement."
