An injured groin will keep Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch on the shelf for at least one month due to a groin injury, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

There's a strong possibility that Lynch will be placed on injured reserve, according to Rapoport, which would force him to sit out a minimum of eight weeks.

Head coach Jon Gruden acknowledged Tuesday he was concerned about Lynch's groin strain. The artist known as Beast Mode rushed for 376 yards and three touchdowns over the Raiders' first six contests of the campaign.

The 32-year-old Lynch is in the second season of a two-year contract he signed with Oakland in 2017 after ending his one-year retirement.
