The 2018 NFL season is a week away, and the league is still trying to resolve issues surrounding its anthem policy.

There's been little movement in negotiations between the NFL and NFLPA, and discussions are expected to continue into the season, sources told Mark Maske of the Washington Post.

The NFLPA released a statement on Monday saying the two sides are still having "productive dialogue."

With the season opener set for Sept. 6, the new anthem policy introduced by the league in May will remain on hold, Maske reports.

Players and staff will not be disciplined for taking part in a protest during the national anthem as long as the policy freeze continues.
