Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson announced Monday that Josh Gordon will suit up for the regular-season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers if he's sufficiently recovered from a hamstring issue, but said the wide receiver won't start, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Gordon's Week 1 status was already unclear after he skipped training camp to focus on his "overall mental and physical health," and it was further complicated by the receiver tweaking his hamstring in his first practice back with the Browns.

Meanwhile, Gordon was more confident than his head coach with regards to his Week 1 status, saying Monday he'll "for sure" be ready to go, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic.

Gordon had 18 receptions, 335 yards, and one touchdown in five games last season, and should form a strong tandem with Jarvis Landry whenever he's ready to play.
