Barnett's release from Buffalo on Monday was listed as a failed physical, Sirius Radio's Adam Caplan reports.
Barnett dealt with knee troubles for much of 2012, but there otherwise are no hints of what troubles he might be having. If he can demonstrate his health, or at least the ability to recover from his current ailment, Barnett still should find work in 2013, perhaps in a starting role.
