Cowboys' Prescott: I don't know if any team needs a No. 1 receiver

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott isn't concerned over the widespread opinion that his team lacks a No. 1 pass-catcher entering the 2018 season following the release of wide receiver Dez Bryant and retirement of Jason Witten this offseason.

"I don't know if any team in the league necessarily needs a No. 1 receiver," Prescott said, according to Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk. "It's about getting the ball out, spreading the ball around, keeping the defense on its toes."

Cole Beasley and Terrance Williams are the top returning options at receiver, while Allen Hurns and Deonte Thompson were added in free agency, Tavon Austin was acquired via trade with the Los Angeles Rams, and Michael Gallup was selected in the third round of the draft.

Geoff Swaim and Rico Gathers will be expected to lead the way in attempting to replace Witten.

"We did a bunch together. Me and these young guys have been here before we even started OTAs, getting that timing down so we can get in OTAs and have a good feel for each other and now with the defense in front of us, grow off of that and grow from what we've already accomplished. That's the best thing I can do," Prescott said.

The 2016 Offensive Rookie of the Year will try to improve on a sophomore season in which he threw for one fewer touchdown and nine more interceptions than he did in his first year.
