The New York Giants and star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. have yet to engage in serious negotiations over a contract extension, a source told ESPN's Jordan Raanan.

Giants co-owner John Mara said two weeks ago he didn't feel a sense of urgency to get a new deal done with Beckham, even though the 25-year-old is entering the fifth and final year of his rookie contract.

Beckham has made it clear he wants to become one of the highest-paid players in the NFL, but the Giants have seemed reluctant to meet the eccentric pass-catcher's request.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Beckham has attended all voluntary team workouts this offseason - including the beginning of organized team activities Monday - despite rumors that he wouldn't set foot on the field before getting a new deal.

Beckham was limited to four games last year because of a fractured ankle, but posted at least 1,300 yards and 10 receiving touchdowns in each of his first three seasons in the league.
