San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan is such a big fan of Lil Wayne that he named his son Carter after the rapper (real name Dwayne Michael Carter Jr.), according to Chris Simms.

The former NFL quarterback, who's close friends with Shanahan and played with him at the University of Texas, dropped that tidbit of information Thursday during an appearance on the "Simms and Lefkoe" podcast.

"He was obsessed with Lil Wayne (during) my early years in the NFL," Simms said. "Kyle's one of those guys that like, if you're hanging and we're drinking some beers or whatever, he's got to control the music. And he has A.D.D., so we can never actually listen to a full song. We listen for like 30 seconds, he's like, 'Got another cool one.'"

Shanahan and his son were recently spotted hanging out with another rapper, 50 Cent, at Bellator 199. Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and tight end George Kittle were also there.
