The woman who accused Reuben Foster of domestic violence, before recanting her claims, initially told police the San Francisco 49ers linebacker threw her dog during their altercation, according to a police report obtained by the Sacramento Bee's Matt Barrows.

It's unclear whether the woman, identified as ex-girlfriend Elissa Ennis, took back the story about Foster throwing her dog when she said he actually never hit her.

Foster is facing three felony charges stemming from the incident with Ennis, which took place Feb. 11 at his house. It remains to be seen whether authorities will go ahead with the charges or drop them.

In addition to the domestic violence charge, Foster is facing a weapons charge, as police found a pistol and rifle - both loaded - inside his house. He's also facing a charge for forcefully attempting to prevent a victim from reporting a crime, as Ennis told police he broke two of her cellphones, including the one she was using to call 911. In the police report, Foster acknowledged he broke Ennis' phones.

During her initial statement, Ennis told police Foster threw her dog across the room, but that it didn't suffer any injuries.

Ennis, on the other hand, had a swollen right lower lip, scratches and a cut on the back of her neck, and a scraped left knee when police arrived at the scene. She also had a ruptured eardrum.

After recanting her domestic violence accusation, Ennis said her injuries were suffered during a fight with another woman and not at the hands of Foster. She said she fabricated the story of Foster hitting her 10 times because she wanted to ruin his career after their relationship went south.

The Santa Clara County District Attorney's office is believed to have video of the fight between Ennis and the other woman.
