Report: Dolphins permit franchise-tagged Landry to seek trade

The Miami Dolphins have given wide receiver Jarvis Landry, whom they recently designated as their franchise player, permission to seek a trade, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Landry's relationship with the Dolphins has appeared rocky for the better part of a year. He was embroiled in trade rumors last offseason and, after playing out the final year of his contract, said in January the team was disrespecting him in contract negotiations.

The 25-year-old also landed in his coach's doghouse at the end of the season, as Adam Gase called the behavior that got Landry ejected from the final contest "embarrassing."

Landry led the NFL in receptions last season with 112, but only tallied 987 yards. He averaged 8.8 yards per catch, the second-lowest figure among wide receivers, behind only Cole Beasley of the Dallas Cowboys.
