Gase criticizes pending free agent Landry for 'embarrassing' ejection

Jarvis Landry may have ended his tenure with the Miami Dolphins after finishing the regular season in the locker room due to an ejection.

Dolphins head coach Adam Gase wasn't shy about criticizing the fourth-year receiver - who's set to become a free agent in March - when commenting on how Landry ignited a brawl that saw him and running back Kenyan Drake ejected in the fourth quarter of the season-finale loss to the Buffalo Bills.

"This last game was probably the pinnacle of what I've ever seen with him during a game," Gase said Wednesday, according to The Associated Press. "I don't think I've ever seen it get to a level where it was extremely bad.

"But the last game was about as embarrassing as I've seen in a long time. It was something we can't have happen."

Landry has been the Dolphins' leading receiver in all four seasons since being drafted, but was not offered a contract extension before this season or during the campaign. Gase says that the incident alone will not decide Landry's future with the Dolphins, but it will certainly be taken into consideration.

"You can't take one isolated incident and overreact, but at the same time we've got to make sure we look at everything we've been doing over the last couple of years," Gase said. "You look at the body of work and see what direction we want to go."
