Philadelphia Eagles running back LeGarrette Blount will put friendships aside when his team faces the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII.
Blount won Super Bowls with the Patriots in 2014 and 2016 before signing with the Eagles in March. New England didn't make much of an effort to retain him despite him leading the league with 18 touchdowns.
Although he remains friends with members of the Patriots, their bond will mean nothing on Feb 4.
"Straight enemy mode," Blount said, according to ESPN's Tim McManus. "Ain't no friends, no homies, none of that. We know what we're going to do; they know what they're going to do. We've got the same goal in mind. It ain't no hard feelings. It just is what it is."
Blount's career has been highlighted by his stints with the Patriots, but he's no longer paying them any attention.
"I don't play for the Patriots anymore. I don't watch the Patriots, I don't care about the Patriots," Blount said. "I focus on what we need to do to put us in the best position to win this game. I had a great time there last year, but last year is last year."
