The Green Bay Packers are continuing to clear out key figures in their coaching staff as they dismissed Edgar Bennett from his offensive coordinator position and quarterback coach Alex Van Pelt, sources told ESPN's Rob Demovsky and Chris Mortenson.

Bennett could potentially remain on staff, but certainly in a different position, according to Demovsky.

The Packers also fired defensive coordinator Dom Capers and moved on from general manager Ted Thompson on Monday before head coach Mike McCarthy was given a one-year contract extension. Assistant linebackers coach Scott McCurley and defensive line coach Mike Trgovac were also dismissed along with Capers.

Bennett had been with the Packers since 2001, starting as a running backs coach before eventually getting the offensive coordinator position in 2015. Van Pelt also began with the Packers as a running backs coach in 2012 before moving up to coach the quarterbacks in 2014.

Former Packers offensive coordinators Joe Philbin and Ben McAdoo - as well as current Green Bay offensive line coach James Campen - are expected to draw interest in the coordinator vacancy, according to Demovsky.
